Meet the Jack Johnson Upcycled T-shirt Contest Winners!
Oct 02, 2012
Jack has chosen the top 10 winning ideas of the Jack Johnson Upcycled T-shirt Contest. It was fun to review all the creative submissions and it was a tough decision for Jack. The top ten winners are:
Kerry BeBe for her constellation inspired lampshade, Aaron Brown for his toilet seat cover (Jack’s personal favorite), Carrie Durrwachter for her rope hammock, Jen Flanagan for her kids sleeping bag, Helle Gregersen for his Tipi of T-Shirts, Brittany Ingleson for her rug, Eric Mackay for his decorative shower curtain, Dawn Pellerito for her beach blanket, KIan Ross for his surf sleeve, and Sarah Stilwell for her cloth diaper!
With so many impressive designs, the decision was made to add a couple additional categories.
Those categories are Favorite Women’s Clothing design with a tie between Claudia Porta for her recycled T-shirt and Ann Meyers for her mini dress and scarf; and Favorite Kid’s Clothing design with a tie between Cynthia Gray for her hapa girl halter dress and Virginia Mulligan for her twirl dress.
Lastly we would like to acknowledge all the inspiring work being done in local communities from these Non-Profits that have entered the contest with their upcycled bags in support of their work: The Children’s Nature Institute, Jessie Curry on behalf of HOPE and the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.
All the Winners including the non-profits will receive free Jack Johnson t-shirts (or sweatshirts) to create their best works and make their ideas come to life. Winning creations will be featured in an online gallery and auctioned off with profits going to the All At Once or Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation charity of the winner’s choice. Winners will also receive autographed goodies from Jack! Thanks to everyone who participated and stay tuned for a look at what these designer create and for a chance to bid on all the designs.
