Support for Every Kid in a Park!

In support of President Obama’s  Every Kid in a Park initiative, the Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation has announced a $25,000 donation to DonorsChoose.org, a crowdfunding platform for teachers. The donation will support “Every Kid in a Park” field trips and will provide 4th graders with hands-on opportunities to explore the outdoors and connect with nature.

Every Kid in a Park gives 4th graders nationwide a free pass for them and their families to explore America’s national public lands and waters for a full year. Last November, Jack and his wife Kim joined 200 local Oahu students to kick off Every Kid in a Park in Hawai’i, and their  Kokua Hawaii Foundation is also supporting field trips for Hawai’i students.

Are you a 4th grade teacher? As part of this Every Kid in a Park funding initiative, teachers from around the country can apply to help cover transportation costs to a U.S. national park, forest, wildlife refuge or other national public lands and waters.
