August Tour starts today!

After a quick break at home, Jack and the band are hitting the road through the end of August.  Jack will be joined by openers ALO and G. Love (solo acoustic), and our friend Paula Fuga will be doing some sit ins along the way too. As you’ve probably heard by now, it pays to get to the show early and take a walk through the Village Green, as on most nights, Jack, Zach, G. Love, and Paula have been out playing a few acoustic tunes for folks visiting with our non profit partners. August will take us to Salt Lake City, Mile High Music Festival in Denver this weekend (tickets available here), Kansas City, Atlanta, and multiple stops in Texas, North Carolina and Florida. It’s been a while since Jack and the band hit some of these markets, so come out and say hello.

Congratulations to Tony DeBoom!  Calling For More Artists!

Congratulations to Tony DeBoom, winner of the Creative Allies To The Sea Art Contest!  Tony won the grand prize of $250, a trip for two to see Jack live at one of his upcoming shows, and as an extra thank you for Tony’s creativity, Jack has decided to print Tony’s design as a limited edition poster that will be sold on the West Coast run of the To The Sea Tour.

Feeling inspired?  Want to show the world your photography skills and win a framed enlargement of your photo signed by Jack and autographed copies of To The Sea and En Concert, or two tickets to a Jack show near you? Well here is your chance.

Upload your best picture of Jack from one of the 2010 shows to Jack’s Facebook Fan Album.  If Jack chooses your photo, then you win! We will pick a winner on October 14th!  The winning photo and other top entries along the way will be featured on Jack’s website.  You can submit photos starting now!

Good luck!

All At Once, Jack Johnson’s social action network, encourages you to become active in your local and world community.  This year’s All At Once campaign features over 150 non-profit groups and focuses on supporting Sustainable Local Food Systems and Plastic Free Initiatives.  Jack Johnson’s tour proceeds will go to these groups to support their projects.

Here’s three choices you can make to support buying seasonal, locally grown, organic food.

It’s your CHOICE - make conscious purchasing decisions!

  • Shop at your local farmers market or farm stand. Visit www.LocalHarvest.org for a farm or market near you.
  • Join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Become a shareholder of a local farm, support its operation, and receive fresh food throughout the growing season. Find your CSA here.
  • Eat at restaurants that serve local organic produce. Check out Eat Well Guide’s map for the To the Sea 2010 tour! Custom guides have been created for each city of the tour to help your find fresh, local and sustainable food. The Eat Well Guide(R) is a free online directory for anyone in search of sustainably produced food in the US and Canada. Check it out here!
