October is National Farm to School Month! Join us as we celebrate food education, school gardens and lunch trays filled with healthy, local ingredients. Explore resources and get involved with the National Farm to School Network Network. In celebration of Farm to School Month, theJohnson Ohana Foundation is donating $25,000 to qualifying teacher requests in support of farm to school and school garden projects in classrooms across the country, as part of a DonorsChoose campaign. View projects and double your donation today!

The Johnson Ohana Foundation has supported school garden programs for over 15 years, with a special focus on strengthening the Farm to School movement in Hawai’i. We are happy to share this NFSN partner spotlight - Culture and Values in Hawai’i Farm to School Policy. Learn about how legislation and advocacy are guided by traditional Hawaiian values, including culturally relevant and Indigenous foodways, and concepts such as aloha, ʻāina, and kuleana.

We also want to honor the incredible Johnson Ohana Foundation grantees that are working to connect young people with growing gardens and local food in Hawai’i.
