What Does Food Education Mean to You?

In honor of Climate Week last week, The Charlie Cart Project teamed up with Alice Waters, FoodTank, and the Edible Schoolyard along with Jack and other food systems pioneers including chefs, activists and educators to answer the question of "What does Food Education mean to you?" We asked Jack what food education means to him and this is what he had to say:
"Food education means connecting kids and community to the land, water, and food that sustains us—getting hands in the soil and supporting resilient food systems.”
Jack shares his love for food education through the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, helping to grow community around food. From the ʻĀINA In Schools farm to school program and the Kōkua Learning Farm Youth Internship Program to farm field trips supported by Kōkua’s Field Trip Grant program, his work connects youth and families to where their food comes from. What does food education mean to you?
