In support of his sixth studio album, From Here To Now To You, Jack played two very intimate acoustic shows where he performed songs from his new record for the first time last week at London’s Tabernacle in Notting Hill and Monday night at New York City’s Allen Room at Lincoln Center overlooking Central Park. Along with the new songs, Jack also played some classics. At the New York show when Jack played "Home," he explained to the crowd, "I've realized home is anywhere your family is. Tonight, this is our home." Thanks to all who came out to the shows and with the announcement of Jack’s North American and European Fall tour, we hope to see more of you this fall.

My friend Emmett and I made this video on an old wind up 16mm camera that we used to shoot our old surf films on. With our friend Dave manning the camera, we drove around Oahu and made it up as we went. It was a fun day and hopefully that translates in the video.” - Jack

Jack’s official video for the first single “I Got You” off his new record From Here To Now To You will premiere this week on Huffington Post! The video was shot around Oahu by cinematographer Dave Homcy and directed by Emmett Malloy. Keep your eyes peeled and be sure to sign up for Jack’s socials for all the details.

While in NYC last weekend, Jack joined Rockaway neighbors and community partners to build a community garden and work on improvements at the smallwater Community Center and Garden. Volunteers built garden beds, planted apple trees and helped to transform the vacant lot into an educational garden and multi-use space for the community. The smallwater Garden will be a source of local fresh produce and will provide a sustainable space for educational workshops and gatherings. Programming will include classes on nutrition, cooking, gardening, and environmental education.

"It's always amazing to see how fast you can build a garden with so many helping hands. It's exciting to see the progress at the Rockaway beach smallwater Community Garden." - Jack

The volunteer event represents a culmination of support from local community groups including Waves for Water, as well as ioby and Green Guerillas, which Johnson has supported over the years through his All At Once community when touring brings him through New York.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Jack and his wife Kim made personal donations to local relief efforts and dug in to support the smallwater garden project. Now you can help too! Through his Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation, donations made to smallwater through ioby will be matched until the project is fully funded.

“Johnson and his band overcame tough odds and thorny logistics to headline the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on Saturday night, replacing late cancellation Mumford & Sons. Despite the short notice, they produced a set filled with good humor, mellow vibes and a ton of hits.” - Associated Press

After a last minute cancellation Jack and the band stepped up to the plate and played a headline set in place of Mumford & Sons this past weekend at Bonnaroo. The call came in late Thursday night from Bonnaroo asking if Jack and the band would help out because of a last minute cancellation from Mumford & Sons due to their bassist Ted Dwayne who is recovering from surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. With some clever work from his tour manager and management team, Jack was able to get all the band together, rent stage equipment and rehearse in less than 48 hours to play the first set together since last years Farm Aid.

The night was complete with some classic sing-a-longs, Jack’s newest single, “I Got You”, a new ditty called “Bonnaroo”, and of course a cover by Mumford & Sons, “The Cave”. And if the night hadn’t already gone great, right as Jack finished his encore solo, the skyline was filled with a firework show to wrap up yet another beautiful Tennessee night. Thanks Bonnaroo and get well soon Ted!

As Jack told Rolling Stone about his 2012 Hawaiian Islands Tour:

"They were the most magical shows," he says. "It gave you the time to tell stories and where the songs came from. I really enjoyed that. I think we're going to mix it up next year with different types of tours, but at least for a lot of it, we're going to try to do some theaters."

With 25 of his 28 fall tour venues in historic theaters, Jack is doing just that. As with all of his tours since 2008, Jack will donate 100% of his tour profits to charity.

Congratulations to Emmett Malloy, Jack’s great friend, manager and co founder of Brushfire Records for his recent GRAMMY win!  Emmett won a GRAMMY for the Best Long Form Video for his film Big Easy Express.  Indie folk heroes Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Tennessee’s Old Crow Medicine Show, and Britain’s acclaimed Mumford & Sons, climbed aboard a beautiful train in California, setting out for New Orleans, Louisiana on a “tour of dreams”. The resulting film from this journey is nothing short of magical.

“Being on an vintage train, riding the rails through the heart of America took us all back in time a bit.  It was easy to get lost and imagine that we were just there for the fun of it all.  Rolling along with your friends and playing music because you loved it. Our cameras were there to participate in the journey and never get in the way of the moving train.”  - Emmett Malloy

Rolling Stone has picked up the release, a top news story: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/jack-johnson-donates-50-000-to-sandy-recovery-efforts-20121108

Jack Johnson has donated $50,000 to various Hurricane Sandy relief and recovery efforts as many New York and New Jersey residents remain displaced or without electricity.

—the Food Bank for New York City, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Save the Children, Waves for Water, GlobalGiving, and Direct Relief International—as many remain displaced and continue to live without power.

Along with contributions to the Food Bank for New York City, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Save the Children, Waves for Water, GlobalGiving and Direct Relief International, Johnson also shipped 3,000 sweatshirts and thermal shirts from his merchandise warehouse to Waves for Water, which will distribute the items to those in coastal communities further set back by the winter storm that just hit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

In addition to his own donations, Johnson is encouraging fans to support recovery efforts in any way possible, from donations of money, food or supplies to volunteering through groups like HandsOn Network, NYC Service and Jersey Cares.

Johnson is not the only artist to lend a hand to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Lady Gaga is donating $1 million to the American Red Cross, and  Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Billy Joel and many more joined forces for NBC's "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" telethon, which raised $23 million for the Red Cross.

Hurricane Sandy Images - Courtesy of Danny Clinch and WavesforWater.org

After years of touring and surfing along the East Coast, I have made so many great friends. It is heartbreaking to see the images and hear their stories. I just made donations to help recover and relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy. Below is a list of groups you can support. If you can't donate money, you can donate food, supplies or your time. Our East Coast family, friends and neighbors need our help.

Aloha- Jack

In the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, Jack Johnson announces his support of immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts in the affected areas. Throughout the East Coast, tens of thousands are displaced from their homes and over 600,000 people are still without power as the relief efforts continue.

Jack has donated to six organizations working hard to provide food, water, medicine and on-the-ground support for thousands affected by the largest Atlantic hurricane on record. Donations will be distributed among the Food Bank for New York City, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Save the Children, Waves for Water, GlobalGiving and Direct Relief International. These organizations are responding quickly to the immediate needs of those affected but are still in need of funds to support their vital relief and ongoing recovery efforts.

The announcement of Jack’s donation is timely, as a strong winter storm hit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast this week, bringing heavy rain, high winds, and snow, affecting areas already impacted by Hurricane Sandy and complicating recovery efforts. To help combat the cold weather, Jack is also shipping 3000 warm sweatshirts and thermal shirts from his merchandise warehouse to the non-profit organization Waves for Water for distribution to coastal communities on the East Coast.

Jack is encouraging others to support relief & recovery efforts in any way they can. He is asking people to consider donating food, supplies, time or money to organizations working on the ground in local communities.

See below for a list of organizations to support.

Last week Jack and the band played a Rock The Vote 2012 Road Trip show. The day started with the Bus Stop at the Penn State campus where students were engaged with voter registration and education on this years election. There was a line formed around the campus where students waited to get their free tickets.  Later that night Jack and his band along with Brushfire labelmates, G. Love and ALO played a show for all the students and for the encore all three bands joined onstage to play “Better Together”. Penn State students were an incredible audience and online buzz is that “...fans filled the place early and were on fire from ALO through to Jack”.

Jack and the band joined Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, and Dave Matthews, along with hundreds of family farmers, advocates, and more than 30,000 fans at Hersheypark Stadium on September 22nd for Farm Aid 2012 in support of local family farmers across America.

For Jack’s set ALO’s Lebo joined in to play steel guitar on “Flake” and “Mudfootball”, and later that night as part of the finale, Jack joined the rest of the lineup on stage with Willie Nelson for, “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”.

Jack participated in a pre show press conference with the founders of Farm Aid who encouraged people to get educated about our current food systems and work towards the Good Food Movement.  Farm Aid organizers pointed to Pennsylvania’s farmers as “models for this movement, leading the nation in local, organic and sustainable food production.”

“We the people are building this Good Food Movement from the ground up,” said Nelson, president and founder of Farm Aid. “Farmers are doing the hard work on their farms. People are demanding this food. We’re not going to stop until every family farmer thrives and everyone has access to good food from family farms!”
