The Johnson Ohana Foundation has supported school garden programs for over 15 years, with a special focus on strengthening the Farm to School movement in Hawai’i. We are happy to share this NFSN partner spotlight - Culture and Values in Hawai’i Farm to School Policy. Learn about how legislation and advocacy are guided by traditional Hawaiian values, including culturally relevant and Indigenous foodways, and concepts such as aloha, ʻāina, and kuleana.
We also want to honor the incredible Johnson Ohana Foundation grantees that are working to connect young people with growing gardens and local food in Hawai’i. Mahalo to the Hawaiʻi Farm to School Hui, Grow Some Good, Mālama Kauaʻi, Mala’ai, Sust’āinable Molokai, Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, Hui Malama i ke ala ‘ulili, HIP Agriculture, Hoʻōla ʻĀina Pilipili Garden, Mālama Loko Ea Foundation, MA’O Organic Farms, Ho‘okua’āina, and Hoa ‘Āina O Mākaha.
