Thank you to all the fans and friends that joined us in South America! It was an incredible leg of the tour and kicked off in Santiago, Chile. The show opened with a special set from local musician and new friend, Benjamín Walker, who later joined Jack and the band on stage. From Santiago the tour traveled to beautiful Pichilemu, Chile, for the Surfestival. It was the perfect start to any festival, Jack and a couple friends paddled out for a surf at Punta de Lobos before heading to the show. That night Bomba Estéreo joined Jack and the band for a mashup of one of her songs “Fuego” and Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Soul Shake Down Party”. From Chile, the tour traveled to Brazil for two headline shows in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with Rôge and friends opening each night and playing “Sunsets for Somebody Else” and “Big Sur”, Brazil style! The tour ended in Belo Horizonte with a surprise sit-in with Silva. The crowds were electric, singing all the words to every song. Thank you again to everyone who came out for a show, the energy in South America was definitely en fuego!
While in Pichilemu, Jack joined over 100 local school kids to lend a hand with the restoration efforts of Fundación Punta de Lobos. Together they planted native cactus, repaired walkways, and joined in stewarding this special coastline. Funds raised for climate solutions from the shows in South America are being directed to Fundación Punta de Lobos, Fundación Reforestemos, and Iniciativa Verde to support ongoing restoration projects.
