G. Love’s new record out today!
We are happy to announce that great friends and label mates G. Love & Special Sauce are releasing their new album,Sugar, available everywhere today. Twenty years after the release of their debut album, the original trio lineup of G Love & Special Sauce is back with their brand new album. Recorded mainly at Brushfire Records’ “Solar Powered Plastic Plant” studio in Los Angeles, Sugar captures the energy of a band who got their start in Boston bars in the early ‘90s and still play up to 150 shows a year. To help push their sound into new directions, G. Love & Special Sauce called in guest musicians including legendary vocalist Merry Clayton (featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom and best known for her duet with Mick Jagger on the Rolling Stone’s “Gimme Shelter”).
G. Love & Special Sauce have released a series of videos from the album, all directed by Brushfire Record’s own Grammy-award winning director Emmett Malloy. You can watch them all here.
