October is Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate food education, school gardens and healthy school food around the country. Jack recently celebrated the grand opening of the Edible Campus Student Farm at UC Santa Barbara. As alumni of UCSB, Jack & Kim and the Johnson Ohana Foundation are proud to support the Edible Campus Program and new UCSB Student Farm, which addresses food insecurity and educates students as growers and producers. The Johnson Ohana Foundation is also supporting the Santa Barbara Edible Education Symposium - October 11 & 12th, hosted by Explore Ecology to bring together the farm to school community in support of edible education. Jack’s Kokua Hawaii Foundation is celebrating Farm to School Month in Hawaii through their AINA In Schools program. Explore All At Once Non-Profit Partners around the world that are working to support school gardens in their own communities, and check out resources from the National Farm to School Network to get involved with farm to school efforts near you.
